Dreamers (DACA) Attorney In Fort Worth, Texas
What Is DACA?
If you came to the United States unlawfully before you turned 16, you may be eligible for deferred action under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program—provided that recent court rulings suspending the program are overturned by a higher court. Before the suspension on July 16, 2021, DACA allowed certain young people to delay removal (deportation) for a set period.
While deferred action does not provide a path to a green card, it does allow you to stay, work, and study legally in the U.S.
If DACA is not currently available or if you are looking for a more permanent status, there may be other immigration options to consider. Nearly a third of DACA applicants qualify for immigration statuses with more lasting benefits.

If the July 16 Ruling Is Struck Down, Do I Qualify for DACA Benefits?
In addition to having come to the U.S. before you were 16, there are other requirements to qualify for DACA. You must have arrived on or before June 15, 2007, lived continuously in the U.S. since then, and been under the age of 31 on June 15, 2012, without lawful status at that time. You also need to be currently in school, have earned a GED, graduated or completed high school, or been honorably discharged from the U.S. Armed Forces or Coast Guard.
It’s important that you have no convictions for felonies, serious misdemeanors, or three or more lesser misdemeanors, and that you are not considered a threat to public safety or national security.
Whether the July 16, 2021 ruling remains in effect or is overturned, there may be other legal paths that could lead to more stable outcomes. Schedule a consultation with ARC Legal Services, LLC to discuss your situation and explore the options available to you.
What Are the Alternatives?
Don’t lose hope because of legal challenges. Arzoo Connor in Fort Worth, Texas, can help you explore which benefits you might qualify for based on your unique situation.
For example, if you currently have DACA status and obtain advance parole, you can travel outside the U.S. and be lawfully admitted upon return. If you marry a U.S. citizen or have a child over 21 who is a U.S. citizen, you may be eligible to apply for lawful permanent residency—a green card—while remaining in the U.S.
If you are a DACA recipient who entered the U.S. legally and married a U.S. citizen, you can also apply for a green card. For those who entered without legal status, there is still hope. Marriage to a U.S. citizen could make you eligible for a provisional waiver. If approved by USCIS, you could travel and apply for a green card at a U.S. consulate abroad, provided you meet the requirements.
With immigration laws constantly changing, it’s important to have someone who understands the system guide you through your options. Reach out to ARC Legal Services, LLC to learn more about how you can move forward.
